Malcolm sells for further expansion.

Story by Dalya Shaw

Malcolm had been working in his firm for over 20 years and business had plateaued. He wanted to expand but didn’t have the time, capacity, or resources required for it to reach its full potential.

Malcolm needed a change. He had worked hard to build a successful practice for over two decades and knew it had room for exponential growth. At the same time, he wanted to pursue other avenues of interest and provide additional specialised and tailored support to clients.

Kev Ryan’s initial contact with Malcolm was through a personalised letter advising him there may be a firm interested in buying his business. The letter impressed Malcolm straight away, but not ready to sell at the time, he put it aside.

When the timing was right, Kev Ryan was the first person he contacted to explore available options.

I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted. I knew I didn’t want to retire, but I also didn’t want to look back in 20 years and say, ‘I wish I had done something differently’.

Kev Ryan worked closely with Malcolm to clarify his desired outcome and immediately began work finding a solution to achieve it. “He was tenacious in finding many different options that would work for me and he had a huge network of contacts to draw from,” says Malcolm.

Kev Ryan demonstrated his vast expertise in buying and selling businesses and negotiated a lucrative deal for Malcolm that benefitted the buyer as well. Malcolm added, “His knowledge of the entire process was exceptional, and business was conducted in a relaxed and professional manner. He highlighted points of importance and ensured a smooth sale was accomplished.”

What was the result?

Kev Ryan found the perfect firm to acquire the business, ensuring its future growth. Malcolm’s hands-on experience is being put to good use and he has retained a position that leverages his time so he can pursue other viable interests.

Kev’s search for the best fit extended into multiple states and he provided numerous opportunities to meet and connect with other firms to ensure a better understanding of the entire process. His extensive capabilities and experience in this specialised area had Kev knowing exactly what needed to be done and how it should look. In Malcolm’s case, this increased his confidence in the whole transaction and resulted in a satisfied client.

Kev Ryan is proactive and diligent, and leaves nothing to chance. His consistent communication kept me at ease. Whilst his approach is relaxed, he knows when to get firm. You definitely want Kev Ryan negotiating for you!

Kev Ryan is passionate about helping people, seeking out deals that benefit all parties and taking the stress out of buying, selling, and merging. His attention to detail is exceptional and his knowledge of the industry and processes is second to none.
